As the cultural music of my travels has inspired me, so has the art of weaving and textile.
The last few years I have felt a calling to use my hands to create something, and so these abstract weavings have come to be.
As I weave I feel gratitude and connection to my family heritage. I also fall into a meditative state as I work. Living with the unpredictability of Multiple Sclerosis, to sing and weave help me be present and mindful. A opportunity to create in the moment, in whatever way I am able. A place to explore familiar and unknown territory with grace.
This is a photo of my weavings hung up at the lovely store Archer + Arrow. I feel so fortunate to have my work hug up in this beautiful store owned by Alyssa Waser.
My work is currently for sale at ARCHER+ ARROW in Duncan and Nanaimo B.C. locations.
Also for sale on ETSY under Soundweave.
